PROFILE OF CHRISTOPHER C. ONYEMENONU

Christopher C. Onyemenonu was born to the family of Okenze Chief & Chief Mrs. R. S. Onyemenonu of Umuarugwu Amainyinta Autonomous Community in Ihitte/Uboma Local Government Area of Imo State on 19th December, 1970.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Chemistry, Postgraduate Diploma in Petroleum Technology and a Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry from the University of PortHarcourt.

He worked as a Demonstrator(Part-time Graduate Assistant) in Petroleum Engineering and Pure & Industrial Chemistry Departments, University of PortHarcourt between 1998 -2003, before joining Abuja British School in September, 2003 as Chemistry Lecturer and later the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri in August, 2004 as Lecturer 1 in Chemistry/Biochemistry Department. He rose to the rank of Chief Lecturer on 1st January, 2015. He was Head, Department of Chemistry/Biochemistry (2010 - 2012); Dean, School of Industrial & Applied Sciences (December, 2012 - January, 2015); Director, Industrial Placement Centre(IPC)(August, 2016 - March, 2017); Director, Technological Entrepreneurship Development Centre(TEDC) (April, 2017 to July, 2021); Director, Academic Matters from March, 2021 until his appointment as the Deputy Rector, Academic on 3rd September, 2021. 

He is a Chartered Chemist for more than fifteen years and a Fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria.

As an academic, he has numerous publications in reputable journals and has presented many conference papers. He has attended many workshops and short training courses within and outside Nigeria. He is a recipient of numerous awards for his outstanding service to humanity

He is married and his marrige is blessed with children.
