Dr. Ibeaja Uzoma Friday FCTI, FCNA, is a Chief Lecturer in Accountancy department, Federal Polytechnic Nekede; born on 27th May, 1967 in Uturu Abia State.  He graduated from Abia State University in 1992 with BSc.(Hons.) degree in Accounting.  Dr.Ibeaja has 3 Masters Degrees in 3 strategic disciplines of Accounting, Finance, and Economics; and a Ph.D Economics degree in 2009.

Before joining the Federal Polytechnic Nekede in 2003 as Lecturer 11, he worked in the private sector in four(4) different cities of Nigeria- Aba, Owerri, Lagos and Portharcourt.  In the Institution, he served as elected Financial Secretary of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) from 2008 to 2012 and Chairman from October 2012 to 2016.  He was (elected) Dean, School of Business and Management Technology (SBMT) between December 2016 and March 2019.  In March 2019, he was appointed Director Evening Programme till 8th March 2022 when he was appointed the Deputy Rector Administration till date.

Before this appointment, he served as Deputy Director Evening Programme from 2011 to 2016 and served and still serve in various committees of Management and the 14th Governing Council of the Polytechnic.

He has published articles in reputable local and international journals, attended and presented papers at Conferences and workshops; and six(6) text books.

He is a social worker, member of International Lions Club, Nigerian Red Cross Society and a Methodist. Currently by the grace of God; Chairman Board of Trustees Like Minds Recreation Sports Club, Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri. He is married with children.
